A community meeting be held with respect to the proposed City of Porterville-initiated master planning effort for approximately 447-acres located in the area east of S Westwood St., west of State Route 65, north of State Route 190 and south of the Tule River (“SoTu”) which will be known as the SoTu Master Plan. The SoTu Master Plan is proposed as a future growth area with opportunities for mixed-use development. Although there is no physical development proposed with the SoTu Master Plan, the City’s goal is to provide the necessary framework to guide future development in this area as it transitions from agricultural land to a vibrant, distinct, and multi-modal district of mixed densities and uses that is attractive to residents and visitors to live, work, explore, and shop. The master planning process will require changes to the City’s General Plan and Zoning Map.
The purpose of this meeting is to provide you with updates for the ongoing process of this proposed master planning effort, get input to possibly incorporate into the design and layout, and answer any questions you may have about this planning effort.
The hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be held in the Centennial Plaza Multi-Purpose Room, located at 15 E. Thurman Ave., Porterville, California, in conjunction with a virtual meeting. The virtual meeting will be held via Zoom and can be accessed at https://bit.ly/SoTuMasterPlanWorkshop
