The Zalud House is a nostalgic glimpse into the past. 

Built in 1891, it is one of the few houses of that era that has not undergone remodeling. It has the mansard roof construction, which makes the house unique in its style of architecture.

From the time the house was built, only the Zalud family lived in the home. In fact, it is one of the few museums in the nation that is furnished entirely with the original owners' possessions.   The house was given to the City of Porterville by the Zalud families youngest daughter, Pearle, when she died in 1970.

The Zalud House is listed in the National Historical Registry of Old Houses and in the National Register of Historic Places. 
The Zalud Rose Garden is a wonderful setting for outdoor weddings.

Admission

The Zalud House is open Thursday thru Saturday from 10:00am-4:00pm.

Regular admission is $1 for children and $3 for adults. Closed the month of January.

Paranormal Tours

Guided private tours by experienced paranormal investigators from Paranormal Movement Investigations (PMI).

The cost is $20 per adult for a 2-hour paranormal tour and $50 per adult for a 4- hour paranormal investigation. A deposit fee may be required.

Zalud House Garden Rental    
               
The historic Zalud House Museum is surrounded by a 1930's style rose garden that is perfect for a delightful outdoor wedding.

Garden Rental fees include use of the garden area, bridal room, kitchen, tables and chairs.  A on site officiate is also available upon request.  Champagne toasts are permitted, alcohol is not.

Rental Fees:

• $51 per hour* during regular business days.
• $61 per hour* during non-business days.

*All rentals have a 2 hour minimum requirement.

$75 Reservation/ Cleaning Deposit (non-refundable if customer cancels, may be applied to outstanding charges)
