The Library and Literacy Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council. It consists of seven regular members. Public meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month September-May at 4:30 pm in City Hall.

Parks & Leisure Commission
The Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council. It consists of eight regular members. Public meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.

Porterville Youth Commission
The Porterville Youth Commission (PYC) was established in August 2008. PYC is made up of Student Body Presidents or a designated representative from the Student Council of the local high schools. Public meetings are held the second Monday of each month during the school year at 4:00 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
