The Transaction and Use Tax Oversight Committee is an independent citizen's oversight committee established by the City Council and charged with monitoring the expenditure of General Fund revenues derived from the Transactions and Use Tax for Public Safety, Police and Fire Protection. 

The committee consists of ten members who are appointed by the City Council to four-year terms.  Members must be a resident of Porterville, a business owner or operator.

Members:  John Angell, John Billiou, Mike Boudreaux Sr., Jerry Claborn, Russell Fletcher, Virginia Gurrola, Kathleen "Kat" Harris, John Simonich, and Margaret Stinson.

Meetings are held yearly, or as needed, City Hall, Conference Room, 291 N. Main Street.
