Every last Saturday of the month is Building Blocks Club at the Porterville City Library. All ages are welcome as we have bricks for young children as well as grade school age and older. Not only will children learn how to build but there will also be movies, raffles, and competitions through out the year.
The Early Literacy Station (ELS), designed specifically for your youngest learners ages 2-8, features over 4,000 localized learning activities. The fun, interactive and engaging content spans all seven curricular areas: math, science & nature, social studies & geography, reading, art & music, writing & computer skills, and reference. Available in English & Spanish.
Come to the Porterville City Library every first Saturday of the month starting at 3 pm and play all your favorite board, card, and video games. This is a great way to meet other gamers in the community. Bring your favorite game and challenge people in friendly competition. The community room of the library boasts plenty of table space and chairs to accomodate groups of any size. If you every wanted to try a game but had no one to play with then come to the Library every 1st Saturday.

The Early Learning Center is a room in the library dedicated to families with materials, toys, and computers for the purpose of early literacy. Children can come and play with toys designed specifically for children to use their imagination. This is a great tool for early literacy.

Boppy time for babies is a play and social time for babies from birth to 18 months. Bring your boppy or blankets and spend time socializing with other parents and babies.
Boppy time happens every Thursday morning from 10:00AM to 10:30AM in the Early Learning Center at the Porterville City Library.
