Zalud House Museum Pioneer Days & Rib Cook-Off

Downtown Porterville

(Rib Cook-Off begins at 7am)

Rib Cook-Off, Pioneer Days Pageants, Live Shoot Out on Main Street, Historical Re-enactments and Displays, vendors, food and much more! 

All proceeds go directly to preserve and protect the Zalud House Museum.

Veterans Day Run
10k, 5k, & 5k Walk

November 11
7:30 am
Downtown Porterville

This event features a 10K Run as well as a 5K run, 5K walk and a Kid’s Fun Run.  The race begins at 7:30 a.m. in front of City Hall (291 N. Main Street) Downtown Porterville.

Awards will be given to 1st through 3rd place in each age category for running and walking events.  All participants will receive an official race day shirt.

Free Fun Run for children 10 and under (Fun Run will be about 3 blocks long).

Pre-register at the Heritage Center, 256 E Orange Ave, online or between 6am- 6:45am the day of. 

Zalud House "Old Fashioned Christmas" Candlelight Tours 

Select weekends in December .

Seasonal displays with vintage decorations and yuletide piano music.  Guided tours and refreshments. 

Admission:  Adults $2, Children $.50

NFL Punt, Pass & Kick

FREE!  National skills competition.  Young pro football fans will have the opportunity to exhibit their football skills. The competition is open to boys and girls ages 6-15.  Winners have the opportunity to advance to the sectional, regional and national competitions.

Spring Egg Hunt


Zalud Park
10:30am- 12:00pm

7,000 candy and toy filled eggs make their way to Veterans Park for this fast and furious event. Selected eggs contain raffle tickets redeemable for prizes including bicycles.  Baskets allowed for 2/3 year olds only.  No parents allowed in the hunting area.

Porterville Corporate Games

Local companies and businesses compete against each other for their chance to win the prestigious Corporate Cup!  Volleyball, Darts, Bowling, Spelling Bee, Dodge Ball, 45 Second Shoot Out, Disc Golf, Double Table Tennis and Wii Just Dance.

Tons of fun and a great way to network with other businesses and members of the community!

Summer Night Lights

Fridays in June and July

Free, Friday evening events for the family!  Activities will include games, a movie, arts & crafts, competitions, and more.  Everything is free including hot dogs, chips, and a drink. 

Co-sponsored by the Tulare County Board of Supervisors as part of their Step Up Program.

Music on Main Street- Fall Series

Friday evenings September & October, Centennial Park, Main Street, 6pm-8pm

Bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a Friday evening of music and relaxation in Centennial Park on Main Street.  In conjunction with the Porterville Chamber of Commerce, Music on Main features local talent every Friday evening from 6:00pm-8:00pm in September and October.

Spring Fishing Derby

Bring your pole and bait to the stocked Murry Park Pond.  Age divisions:  2-7, 8-15. Child must be able to reel in their own fish.  Trophies to the top 3 in each age division plus a trophy for the big fish of the day.  

$3 in advance.  SPACE IS LIMITED!  Early registration is advised.  $5 day of registration ONLY if space allows.

Spring Kids Fest

A 100' giant slide, carnival rides, rock climbing wall, bounce houses, games, dance performances, information booths, food, music and more.  Geared for ages 2-12.
